Allternit Platform API Acceptable Use Policy

This policy applies to everyone who uses the Allternit Platform API (“the API”), including developers and the end-customer businesses they serve. It is part of the Allternit Developer Terms. Allternit LLC (“Allternit”, “we”) may suspend a project that breaks it.

1. Tell people they are talking to an AI

Every call and conversation an agent starts or answers must say that it is an AI assistant. You may reword the disclosure. You may not remove it, hide it, or tell people they are talking to a human. The API refuses agent greetings that leave it out.
  • Only call or text people who contacted that number first or who gave you recorded consent. Record consent through the API with its source and evidence.
  • STOP and similar opt-out words are always honored and cannot be overridden through the API.
  • Follow the laws that apply to calls and texts where you and the recipient are, including the TCPA, the CAN-SPAM Act, carrier rules, and do-not-call rules.

3. Recording

Call recording is off by default. If you turn it on, you are responsible for getting the consent the law requires. The API plays a consent prompt in all-party-consent states.

4. Voices and likeness

Use only the stock voices the API offers. Do not clone or imitate a real person’s voice or likeness unless that person has given documented permission that Allternit has reviewed and keeps on file.

5. Carrier registration

Each end-customer business that sends texts must register its own brand and campaign through the API. Do not register on behalf of a business that has not authorized it, and do not send traffic that does not match the registered campaign.

6. Not allowed at launch

You may not use the API for:
  • healthcare services that involve protected health information (Allternit does not sign business associate agreements);
  • legal advice or legally privileged communications;
  • financial advice;
  • debt collection;
  • political campaigns or political messaging;
  • lead generation, purchased lists, or cold outreach.

7. Always prohibited

  • Illegal content or activity, fraud, phishing, or impersonation.
  • Harassment, threats, hate speech, or sexual content involving minors.
  • Spoofing caller ID or sender identity.
  • Toll fraud, traffic pumping, or attempts to get around spend caps, rate limits, or concurrency limits.
  • Attempts to break, probe, or overload the API or other customers’ data, except through a security disclosure process Allternit has agreed to.
  • Collecting credentials or payment details under false pretenses.

8. Enforcement

Allternit may suspend a key, a number, an agent, or a whole project that breaks this policy, and will tell the project owner why when it can do so lawfully. Repeated or serious violations can end your access. Report abuse to [email protected]. Allternit LLC, Saint Paul, Minnesota. Questions: [email protected]. Effective October 9, 2026.
