Status: AVAILABLE (internal work runtime). See status labels. An executor is a process that receives a leased node, works inside its environment and returns outputs and evidence.

Architecture contract

Take the lease and heartbeat while working. Read only allowed environment keys, write only inside the filesystem scope, and use the shared egress client. Produce outputs and evidence and stop; never mark the node done and never notify a person. The gate sits in front of your tool calls, through a pre-tool hook or by answering your permission requests over the Agent Client Protocol. If you offer neither, you run inside the environment fence only, which is a weaker guarantee.

Current implementation

Executors are launched by the work runtime today. Registering a new executor type is an internal change.

Developer relevance

Support a pre-tool hook or ACP so the gate is not bypassed.
