Status: AVAILABLE (contract). See status labels. An authority profile lists the capabilities a run may use, the ones it may not, its filesystem scope, its network policy and the approvals it needs.

Architecture contract

AuthorityProfileV1 has profile_id (read-only, code-safe or code-write), a version, capabilities, denied capabilities, filesystem scope, a network_policy_id and approval requirements. Bypass-style profiles are rejected with ERR_AUTHORITY_PROFILE_FORBIDDEN. Omitted fields resolve to safe defaults, or the run fails with ERR_DEFAULTS_UNRESOLVABLE. Steps: start from the narrowest built-in profile; list only capabilities you need; put denials in denied_capabilities, which win over grants; name a network policy; add approvals for irreversible effects; Validate against the schema in spec/Contracts/kernel/v1/schemas/ before anything else. Receivers fail closed, so a document that does not validate is rejected, not repaired.

Current implementation

The profile contract is frozen. Extending the built-in set of profile IDs is a contract change (a minor ABI bump).

Availability

Developer relevance

Prefer read-only and widen only when a run needs it.
